New Yarns a-Spinnin'

For the first time in our 10+ years, Southern Indiana FiberArts Festival will be moving locations! SIFAF2015 will take place at the Masonic Lodge in New Albany, Indiana on October 23 & 24. Be Aware of Construction

If you normally arrive by way of I65 North from Kentucky, please be aware of construction at the bridge. The bridge is OPEN but traffic my be slow due to lane closures. You can easily alternate your arrival by way of  I64 by taking by-pass 264. 
Consult your favorite map if you need too!

Thanks all around!

fXg thanks all our Sponsors & Vendors & Guests for SIFAF2013! What a fantastic weekend we had and hope you enjoyed every minute of your time with us. Special kudos to the great crowd who didn't let the rain keep you away Saturday morning. We appreciate die-hard fiber fans because we all are, too!
Congratulations to Nancy L. of Corydon who won our basket raffle and will soon be enjoying the array of gifts from various vendors of SIFAF2013. Thanks to all who participated in our activities this year! Remember, next year will be our 10th annual. We are planning a fun fibery shindig so put it on your calendar -

SIFAF2013 Classes!

Registration will be done only by walk in at the festival from opening time each day until 20 minutes before class begins. 
Registration will be at the fXg Welcome booth on the patio nearest the main entrance from parking. You can register Friday for Saturday classes. 
Classes include some materials however some tools are for class use only but are for sale by instructor. 
We reserve the right to limit class size if no limit is listed here. 

Friday 
4-6 Carding for Batts & Roving - Stephanie Stratton, Lunabud Knits & A Tangled Yarn - How to get the MOST from your drum carder! Also a great class if you are considering buying a drum carder.- $50 

Saturday:
10-noon Weaving Introduction - Jay Couch, Couch's Little Workshop - See different looms at different stages of warping then try some weaving on a pre-warped loom, take what you make! - maximum 6 students - $10 

10-noon Knit Lab - Ann Merriman, Grinny Possum Fiber Arts - Take your knitting up a step and learn how to fix some mistakes, tink, un-drop that stitch and a few more tricks! - $15 

1-3 Crochet from the ground up - Ken McCamish, the sock guy - Start with a chain and go forward. Fearless crochet awaits you! - $10 

1-3 Spinning Primer - Victoria Smith, follow the star studio - Drop spindles have been around for ages, isn't it time for you to take a whirl? Get the basics here! - maximum 10 students - $10

Classes to whet your fiber appetite!

SIFAF2013 is offering basic classes designed to allow participants to try a new fiber art or practice a technique with some skilled supervision.
Registration and time details will be posted Tuesday, October 8. (plus we may have more to add to the list!)
Instructors will have supplies available for purchase. Classes include use of tools during class.

Crochet - Ken McCamish - How to start a chain and where to go from there
Weave - Jay Couch - Different looms warped for discussion plus practice & you take what you make
Spin - Victoria Smith - Give the spindle a whirl and try making yarn or your own
Card - Stephanie Stratton - How to get more fun fluff from your drum carder
